Saudi Arabia imposed tax on foreign workers

Revival of Pakistani film industry

After the independence of Pakistan. The newly emerged Pakistani film industry had faced the shortage of funds and specially, the lack of technical equipment which further paralyzed the Pakistani film industry. This situation of uncertainty continued for years.
But few years later Pakistani film industry was able to produce it's first film (teri yaad) in 1949 and after that film Pakistani film industry golden era was started. This golden era continued for 20 years, and film industry was producing 200 hundred movies annually.
In this span of time Pakistani film industry was produced best legend actors of that time like Waheed murad, Nadeem, Noor jahan ,javed sheikh, Moin akhtar, Mohammad ali and many others.
In 1978 general zia-ul-haq took over the control of the country, and persuade it's islamization policies which directly effected the film industry and and also he regulated the new registration law for film makers. This was not only the main reason but also the other factors like separation of east Pakistan and newly introduced (VCR's) which caused the real damage to the film industry and due to that people were getting entertainment on their door steps. And that was the time when cinema owners turned their cinema's into plaza's.
"according to the report Pakistan had six hundred cinemas in mid 70's and reduced around 75 percent cinemas in early 80's".
In 1990's Pakistani film makers produced low cost budget movies in Punjabi for a small segment of society and it was 20th century when Hollywood was producing the James bond series and high tech movies where as our neighbor country India was producing the quality films for their audience with the state of the art technology while Pakistani film producers promoted the action pack movies with "gundasa culture" and violence in their films.
Government should first ban the Indian movies in Pakistan and provide the financial support to the film industry to flourish. Also government should take serious steps to keep film industry to achieve it's previous glory and incourage producers who have produced the super hit movies like Bol, khuda kay liye and main hoon Shahid afridi.
This is how we can revive our film as well as  cinema industry in Pakistan and force audience with the content of film to come and watch movies in cinema houses.
