"There is no any specific institution in third world countries to guide students regarding the scope of study .Due to this students have no idea which educational field is good for them".
Student counseling should be compulsory for students in Asian sub continent, because
in SAARC region parents try to impose their wishes and dreams on their children to fulfill.
This phenomenon is very common in third world countries like Pakistan where
comparatively literacy rate in previous generation is very low. Even I have
witnessed in highly literate people they also think like that. You can call
them highly educated illiterate. Usually these kind of parents fail to achieve
their goals and dreams when they were students, so they undermine their children’s
will and don’t understand what their children want to be in their lives. And
often seen these kind of incidents when their kids failed to achieve their
parents dream, then their parents discouraged them and feel them that they
can’t do anything in their lives and also their kids also assuming like their
parents. In nutshell children’s feel that they don’t
posses those abilities or skills so their confidence got shattered.
Now in the conclusion I think here comes the most important role of
institutions like student counseling where students can know the positives as
well as negative points of that particular field or you can compare with other
fields also. And they can check their aptitude in that specific field. Either
is it good or bad.
